Notification Channels on Bryx Mobile iOS

Modified on Mon, 5 Oct at 4:29 PM

Bryx assigns a sound to each type of alert through a channel. A channel is a tone, plus a setting for whether it plays as a Critical Alert. If an alert type is assigned to a channel that uses a silent tone, the notification arrives with no sound.

  1. In Bryx, open Settings > Notifications.
  2. Under Device Notifications, check:
    • iOS Permission shows that notifications are allowed.
    • Critical Alerts: note whether it says it's enabled.
  3. Under Groups, tap Group Notifications, choose your agency, then tap a group you get calls from.
  4. Make sure Receive Notifications from Group is on.
  5. Under Alert Channels, each alert type shows the channel it uses underneath it. Write down the channel name for the alert types you're missing sound on.
  6. Go back to Settings > Notifications. Under Channels, tap Alert Channels.
  7. Tap each channel you wrote down and check:
    • Tone: if it says Silence, change it to another tone, such as Standard.
    • Critical Alert: turn this on if you want calls to sound when the phone is on silent or in a Focus mode. If the switch is grayed out, iOS hasn't approved Critical Alerts for Bryx on this phone.
  8. Repeat steps 3–7 for each group you get calls from.

Check the iOS sound settings

  1. Open the iOS Settings app > Notifications > Bryx.
  2. Make sure Sounds is on.
  3. If Critical Alerts appears there, turn it on.
  4. Check that the Ring/Silent switch (or the Action button) isn't set to silent. Also check that no Focus mode is on. Without Critical Alerts, either one mutes the notification sound.
