If your rigs have AVL (e.g. Sierra Wireless, Cradlepoint), we can configure the modems to send data to our servers and automatically update the locations of the apparatus accounts in our system. This method is preferred if you are already use an AVL system because it will be the most accurate. While we cannot provide specific setup instructions because each device can be different, in general you need to send via UDP to avl.bryx911.com on port 25551.
If the laptops in the rigs have an internal GPS, you can use the Bryx 911 Universal App to push up these location updates. The Universal App behaves similarly to our Bryx 911 iOS and Android apps and might be helpful to have in the rigs anyway. You can download the Universal app at https://downloads.bryx.com/ua. Once you install this app, you can go to the Settings menu in the top-right of the screen, click on the Location tab, and run the "Location Test". This will tell you the accuracy of the location that will be sent to our system.
Finally, if your rigs have iPads or Android tablets, you can simply leave the app open and ensure location services are enabled, and our cloud will report the location of the device on the map for your agency members.
Let us know if we can help you set anything up, or if you want to use your existing AVL system, let us know what identifier/IMEI we should associate with your apparatus by contacting us at support@bryx.com.
